Resiliency Center
The Wood County Resiliency Center is not just a building. It is infrastructure and an adaptable resource for whatever challenges the future may hold.
Leveraging American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds, Wood County Commission President Blair Couch envisioned a dynamic “Swiss Army Knife” of a building that would serve the community in times of need and beyond.
The facility was designed to be an adaptable building that could respond to a variety of emergency events, food and healthcare distribution, and mass casualty situations. Drive-through bays and a commercial kitchen further enhance the building’s ability to support food distribution or critical medical services when needed. The facility also provides flexible areas and office areas for county departments and expands local court spaces.
When not in use for emergencies, it is a high-quality community hub. The facility serves as a driver of economic and community development for the region, attracting groups and organizations for conferences, weddings, and other gatherings. The main meeting room accommodates up to 800 people, with additional rooms available for smaller meetings or breakout sessions.
